In 2008, 2009, and 2010 Excel earned the title of USEA Area V’s Preliminary Horse of the year and was awarded the Walter Strauss Perpetual Trophy, as well as the 2009 Area V Adult Rider Perpetual Trophy in honor of Clover's Eclipse. Kristy was the Reserve Champion Preliminary Rider in 2009 and 2010, and was the 3rd place rider in 2008. She was the Area V Adult Rider Champion in 2008, 2009, and 2010. Kristy was also a member of the United States Eventing Association’s Silver Medal Club, Bronze Medal Club, and Blue Ribbon Club, and has been awarded a Gold Medal at the preliminary level in 2009, 2010, and 2011..
